How we can help you find a home

Our friendly staff at Main Street Realty are focused on finding you a home. You can contact us directly at our office to talk to us further about a property. If you would like to inspect a property, we are happy to walk you through and answer any questions that you may have.

What’s next

Once you have found the best property for you, each person who wishes to reside at the residence completes a tenancy application form. If you require assistance with completing the form, we are happy to assist you with any questions you may have. When the application form is fully completed and all information is correct and truthful, we will then follow through with our process. We will give you a quick response and notify you immediately as soon as the owner has supplied us with their decision.

Securing the tenancy

Once your application has been approved, an appointment is arranged for you to sign your tenancy agreement and other necessary paperwork. Before moving into the premises, a full bond (four times the weekly rent) and a further 2 weeks rent needs to be paid. Bond loans can be requested from Blackbutt council office.


Keys to the property will be handed over once all monies are paid in full. The lease signed by all parties and lease start date has commenced. We keep a spare set of keys at the office. Should you lose your keys or have locked yourself out, you may collect your set during office hours. We take a photo copies of the keys that are handed over to you at the collection time. So we have evidence of what keys you have to check back on at end of lease period.

Electricity, gas and telephone

It is your responsibility to have all services at the property placed in your name and to arrange a final metre reading prior to vacating. Contact numbers for these services are:

Condition Report

When moving into a rental property, these documents are very important. They must be filled out by both tenant and agent to ensure both parties agree to the condition of the property. Please return the completed condition report to use within three business days of moving in.


Only people originally included on your application and approved by the owner are allowed to reside at the property permanently. If a new tenant wishes to replace and existing tenant or become a new tenant, they must go through the same process as any other applicant. Please contact our office to arrange the supply of an application.

Paying rent and office hours

At Main Street Realty, our office is open weekdays between 9 am – 5 pm, Saturday and Sunday 9 am – 12 pm. Should you wish to see our property manager, please contact the office to make an appointment time that will suitable both parties. We except the following payment methods of rent including Cash via office, Direct debit and Centre pay. Trust account details can be supplied when requested or found in your tenancy agreement.
